There are some features of applications that are provided by the application system, and there are some which are given by the Operating System.
Common features of applications are the following:
- Toolbar - A toolbar is a GUI widget on which buttons, icons, or other input/output elements are placed
- Menu - Menus are collections of functions that the user is able to choose
- Dialogue box - Dialogue boxes are temporary windows that communicate information to the user and prompts them for a response
- Graphical user interface (GUI) - GUI is an interface that displays the computer's information in a graphical way.
